ABSTRACT
Many indigenous chemicals act as growth regulators to influence plant growth. This paper will not concern itself with indigenous plant growth regulators or chemicals which indirectly influence the rice plant, such as fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides which control competitive or destructive organisms. Discussion will be limited to those chemicals, including indigenous growth regulators or pesticides, which are applied with the intent to alter plant growth and/or development.
