ABSTRACT
Up to now the horse has remained the “Cinderella” among the common farm and laboratory animals with regard to the development and use of the technique of embryo transfer. Only in recent years has any attention been paid to this aspect of equine reproduction, and, as will become apparent to the reader, we still have much to learn about many basic parameters which are likely to influence the success of the method when applied to the horse.
