ABSTRACT
Even though Campylobacters were first recognized about 70 years ago, 1 their remarkable association with disease is only now becoming widely appreciated. Not only are these organisms among the most frequent causes of bacterial diarrhea in man, 2,3 but they are also leading causes of enzootic sterility in cattle and sporadic abortion in various domestic animals. 4
