ABSTRACT
Grounded theory is one of the common strategies used for qualitative research in primary care. Its focus is on the analysis of qualitative data. Effective use of grounded theory, as for most qualitative research strategies, requires that the raw data to be analysed (such as transcribed interviews) has considerable detail, sometimes described as ‘rich’ or ‘thick’ data.
