ABSTRACT
This chapter describes alkali aggregate reactions in Australia and New Zealand. Although Australia and New Zealand are geographically close, issues relating to alkali aggregate reaction and the nature of the research carried out to address them in each country are different. Therefore the chapter is divided into two independent parts: sections 14.1 to 14.10 by Ahmad Shayan covering alkali-aggregate reaction in Australia, and sections 14.11 to 14.17 by Sue Freitag covering alkali-aggregate reactions in New Zealand.
