ABSTRACT
Korean traditional wood structure is complete by assembling wood members, which is the most similar to steel frame structure among general buildings. Basic material characteristics and characteristics of joint have great differences. Different from steel frame structure using steel, an isotropic structure, wood having anisotropic structure has different physical characteristics by the direction of pulp and cross-section. The joint of steel frame structure is divided into bolt (pin joint) and welding (Steel joint). As for wood structure that joint by conversion of timber, while general wood structure uses steel such as nail, Korean traditional wood structure uses wood for conversion of timber, and forms joint by fixing horizontal joint with vertical joint. Such joint part is called connection in traditional wood structure.
