ABSTRACT
The title of this book is a manifesto, its elision being less straightforward than it may at first appear – ‘cinema’ is derived from the Greek kinema, meaning ‘movement’; while ‘medicine’ comes from the Latin medicere, to heal. So the Greeks and Romans – two hefty civilisations – here dovetail nicely; as I hope (pace CP Snow) will Art and Science in the pages that follow.
