ABSTRACT
Seafood is any form of sea life food product made or harvested by humans and prominently includes fish and shellfish products as well as seaweed (Figure 5.1). Most of the seafood harvest is consumed by humans, but a significant proportion is used as fish food to farm other fish or rear farm animals. Safety seafood products are nutrient rich food that are good sources of protein, vitamins, minerals, and other valuable bioactive compounds such as canthaxanthin, carotene, and also diet leaf. Scientific studies continue to explore the relationship between the unique type of fat found in seafood, 92the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, and the prevention or mitigation of common chronic diseases (Granata et al. 2012; Tokuşoğlu 2016).
