ABSTRACT

Symbolic circuit analysis, simply stated, is a term that describes the process of studying the behavior of electrical circuits using symbols instead of, or in conjunction with, numerical values. As an example to illustrate the concept, consider the input resistance of the simple circuit in Figure 8.1. Analyzing t8-he circuit using the unique symbols for each resistor without assigning any numerical values to them yields the input resistance of the circuit in the form:() V i n I i n = R 1 R 2 + R 1 R 3 + R 1 R 4 + R 2 R 3 + R 2 R 4 R 2 + R 3 + R 4 https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-u.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315220567/134bbcb2-be6a-426d-9c4e-33901bdc75bc/content/eq898.tif"/> Symbolic circuit analysis example. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-u.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315220567/134bbcb2-be6a-426d-9c4e-33901bdc75bc/content/fig8_1.tif"/>
