ABSTRACT
Men have a 39.66% chance of acquiring cancer during their lifetimes and a 22.03% chance of dying from it. For women, these values are 37.65% and 18.76%, respectively (Howlader et al. 2017). Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the United States and worldwide (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2017a; World Health Organization 2017). It is responsible for 22.0% of the deaths in the United States annually. In addition to this high mortality, it is estimated that in 2010 the economic cost of cancer was $1.16 trillion and has been increasing every year since then (World Health Organization 2017).
