ABSTRACT
No one definition of hypoglycaemia satisfies all situations; context is important. Literally, hypoglycaemia means ‘abnormally low blood glucose concentration’; in other words, it is a numerical value below an arbitrarily defined ‘normal’ or reference value. It may be completely asymptomatic.
