ABSTRACT
The ability of humans to interact and communicate effectively with one another is dependent upon a language system that places similar objects together in distinct categories that are easily recognizable by the general population. Items such as saws, screwdrivers, and hammers are grouped together under the general term “tools,” while meat, bread, and milk are collectively referred to as “foods.”
