ABSTRACT

It is for me an honour and indeed a great pleasure to deliver a keynote speech to this remarkable International Seminar on Social Justice (ISRISJ), giving me not only the opportunity to express my compliments to Prof. Elly Malihah and Dr. Vina Adriany of the Organizing Committee for choosing the rather timely theme of Research for Social Justice, but also to share with you the vision which we at our LEAD Programme of Leiden University have developed to underscore, strengthen and revitalise the cultural dimension of socio-economic and cultural development in various sectors of the society, including the socio-judicial sector which also provides an appropriate framework for the various papers presented in the Seminar.
