ABSTRACT

Selenium (Se) is an essential trace element for humans, and its physiological functions are mainly realized by selenoproteins (Holmgren 2000, Mustacich & Powis 2000). Thioredoxin reductase (TrxRs) is a family of selenoproteins that is widely expressed in organism cells from humans and consists of three members called TXNRD1, TXNRD2, and TXNRD3. Others have reported that TrxRs mainly exerts biological functions related to anti-oxidative stress, anti-inflammatory, etc. (Koháryová & Kolárová 2008, Neogi & Zhang 2013, Allen & Golightly 2015). However, a comprehensive genomic analysis about TXNRD1, TXNRD2, and TXNRD3 has not yet been reported.
