ABSTRACT

Cardamine violifolia O.E. Schulz is a cruciferous plant, and it is mainly found in Enshi, Yichang, Hubei Province and Hupingshan, Hunan Province, China. Cardamine violifolia has the best ability for selenium (Se) accumulation and can accumulate Se up to 8000, 2000, and 2300 mg/kg in roots, stems, and leaves, respectively (Yuan et al. 2013). The plant has high medicinal value and can also be used as raw material for processing into Se food products, which has a great potential for future development.
