ABSTRACT

Selenium (Se) is essential for human beings and animals and can be beneficial to plants. Wheat is a staple crop with the capacity to accumulate Se (Li et al. 2017). Nitrogen (N) is essential for wheat growth and development and is closely related to wheat yield and quality (Yuan et al. 2006, Feng et al. 2013). The objectives of this study were to understand the reciprocal effects of Se and N fertilization on the contents of these two elements and to propose strategy for Se biofortification under differential N nutrition.
