ABSTRACT

Selenium (Se) is one of the essential trace elements for human and animals. It plays an important role in enhancing immune function and reducing carcinogenic substances (Nie et al. 2015). Developing selenium-rich agricultural products is of great significance to improve people’s health. Presently, Se research on the application of exogenous Se is mostly concentrated on foliar application (Hu et al. 1998, Ning et al. 2013, He et al. 2015, Li et al. 2016). There are few reports on the application of selenium-rich organic fertilizer to the soil. In this study, different amounts of Se-enriched organic fertilizer were applied to soil at different growth stages of Gala apple fruit. Variation of Se content of selenium-enriched apple is discussed.
