ABSTRACT

Selenium (Se) is an essential micronutrient for humans and animals. Others have assessed that 39–61% of the Chinese population has an inadequate intake of Se (26– 34 μg/d). The average daily Se intake is inadequate for human health due to the low Se concentrations in food products like wheat (Liu et al. 2016). Low Se content in food products is due to low Se availability in soils. Therefore, research on soil Se bioavailability is of great significance.
