ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to acquaint the reader with the vocabulary, concepts, models, modes, and privacy issues associated with telehealth (telemedicine). While this chapter is written with the practice of teleaudiology in mind, it is hoped that the reader will understand how telehealth may affect individual wellness overall. Furthermore, it should be recognized that new telehealth applications are being developed for consumer use at a logarithmic rate. In response, it is likely clinicians will conceive and implement new telehealth services in the future not imaginable today.
