ABSTRACT
By some comparative standards it could be said that the past two decades have witnessed rapid agricultural development or growth in the developing countries. ( 1 ) Agricultural output for 1976-78 was 50 percent greater in the developing countries than in 1961-65. This compares to a 37 percent increase over the same time period for the developed countries. For the developing countries the output growth rate was nearly 3 percent per annum; for the developed countries, 2.5 percent.
