ABSTRACT
Advanced clinical monitors have been proposed and tested in recent years for managing patient hemodynamics in operating rooms and intensive care units. These intelligent systems feature heuristic methods such as fuzzy logic for diagnosis and determining the optimal drug infusion rates for controlling the patient hemodynamic parameters. In this chapter, the concepts of fuzzy decision-making and fuzzy control are illustrated with an example of an automated multiple drug delivery system
