ABSTRACT

The trend toward outsourcing has apparently not abated. More and more, organizations are considering outsourcing as a possible solution for controlling IS costs. It is estimated that as many as one out of three companies will choose outsourcing by the end of the 1990s. Regardless of the actual number of companies that do make that choice, it is apparent that outsourcing all or selected parts of an IS organization is becoming an often-used management strategy.
