ABSTRACT
This entry summarizes current research on reading disorders. Historical trends along with the most recent perspectives on the definitions, subgroup classifications, and causes of the problems related to reading are reviewed. This entry also provides an analysis of interventions to improve reading skills and types of interventions resulting in successful outcomes. This entry concludes by examining the main issues in the field of reading disabilities.
