Archivists and Collecting

Archival collecting is seen by archivists in some countries principally within the context of well-established archival appraisal practices and principles. The author argues for a specifically North American approach to collecting, where the notion of collecting has been the strongest, most well-developed, and most debated. However, many traditional aspects of collecting have been and are being challenged.
