ABSTRACT
This entry discusses the development of national and regional archives in Greece, focusing on the period from the early twentieth century to the present. College and university archives, private archives, and audiovisual archives are also discussed. Archival science is a new field in Greece. The Society of Greek Archivists was founded in 1990, and the first university level archival studies program was established in 1993 at Ionian University.
