ABSTRACT

Noble metals are those metals that either do not react or react to a least extent with other elements. Nanomaterials of these noble metals, such as Au, Ag, Pt, and Pd, are exploited for various applications, for instance in the cosmetic industry, fuel cells, and analytical sensors. These have fascinating physical and chemical properties: For instance, these are biocompatible, antibacterial, and do not oxidize easily [1, 2]. Noble nanomaterials can be found in various shapes: spheres, cubes, plates, rods, wires, stars, prisms, and right bipyramids. These different shapes are exploited in various applications such as biomedicine, electronics, textile, and analytics [3,4–5].
